Preparations Underway for Official Havana Poetry Festival

HAVANA TIMES, April 25 — Organizers of the 16th International Poetry Festival of Havana are preparing to receive artists from 40 countries from May 21 to 24, reports the Prensa Latina news agency.

The delegations with the most representatives are those from Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Canada, said members of the organizing committee at a press conference on Tuesday.

The festival will be dedicated to Afro-West Indian poets and the centenary of Cuban playwright Virgilio Piñera.

Also in the program will be the World Meeting of Poets and the Fifth Congress of the South Cultural Project.
