Cuba Has New Ambassador to Venezuela

HAVANA TIMES, August 13 – The Cuban government appointed Rogelio Polanco, director of the state-run Juventud Rebelde daily newspaper, as the island’s new ambassador to Venezuela, reported IPS.

Polanco has a master’s degree in international political relations.

Venezuela is Cuba’s leading trade partner making the post of great importance.  The island receives much of its oil from Venezuela and supplies the South American country with tens of thousands doctors, educators, sports trainers and other professionals for its social and development programs.
