Cuba to Drill 20 New Oil Wells

HAVANA TIMES, Jan. 26 – Cuba will drill 20 new oil wells in 2011, mainly in the area from Havana to Varadero, some 120 kilometers east of the island’s capital, said Rafael Tenreyro, head of the exploration group of the Petróleos de Cuba Company. He noted that the drilling will take place from the coast to the sea, to reduce the environmental impact, reported IPS.

  • I am coming to Cuba next week (Sept 27-Oct 3) with People to People. I read an article on line about Rafael Tenreyro, with the Petroleos de Cuba. I met Rafael in 1994 when he presented geology in Denver Colorado and would love to say hello again. Can you forward this message to him? Robbie Gries [email protected]
