Easter Week Celebrations in Cuba

HAVANA TIMES, April 7 – Thousands of faithful began celebrating Holy Week in Cuba, a religious festivity not included by the government as a holiday but which is commemorated with processions in the island’s dioceses. The public holding of these celebrations is considered a sign of the gradual improvement of Church-State relations, notes IPS.

While for many Cubans the week comes and goes like any other, in the tourist industry it is the super-high season with virtually all hotel rooms booked in resorts and all car rentals reserved.
