Minister Questions Deficit of Professionals

HAVANA TIMES, Jan. 5 – Minister of Higher Education Miguel Díaz-Canel questioned the university enrollment policies in the last five years, which led to a deficit of 110,000 professionals in different technical fields, agriculture and natural sciences, pedagogies and mathematics for a lack of correspondence between the economic needs of the country and the enrollments opened, reported IPS.

Speaking  in the far eastern province of Guantanamo, Diaz-Canel also noted there are another 5,600 surplus graduates in other careers where the demand for their service was far surpassed by enrollment.
