Ortega’s FSLN Expelled from the Socialist International
In Nicaragua, the FSLN has not issued an official reaction to its expulsion from the ranks of the main leftist organization in the world.
HAVANA TIMES – The Council of the Socialist International informed on Tuesday that it has expelled the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN), the governing party of Nicaragua controlled by Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.
The news was confirmed by the governing Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE), on its Twitter account.
“The Council of the Socialist International meeting in the Dominican Republic has decided to expel the FSLN from the organization for the violations of Human Rights and the democratic values ??committed by the Ortega regime in Nicaragua. Socialism is incompatible with tyranny,” states the twitter account of the foreign minister of Spain, Joseph Borrell Fontelles.

With regard to Venezuela, at the meeting of the Socialist International, all the interventions have gone along the lines of recognizing the legitimacy of the National Assembly with Juan Guaido as its representative and in the demand for free and democratic elections, and it is foreseen that a resolution will be voted on before the session ends.
Delegations from more than a hundred political parties participate in the meeting to discuss multilateralism and the strengthening of democracy.
The Socialist International is a benchmark for all progressive parties and movements in Latin America.
