Parliament to Discuss New Provinces

HAVANA TIMES, June 8 – The National Assembly of People’s Power (parliament) will discuss during its next regular session a bill for the division of Havana province, bordering on the Cuban capital, into two new territories: Mayabeque and Artemisa, reported IPS.   The measure would attempt to make more efficient the administration of that area, one of the Caribbean country’s key agricultural regions.

Ciudad de la Habana is the smallest.

I guess it is based on population rather than land area.

But why on earth Mayabeque !

I thought that Havana was the smallest province. More govermental bodies, more efficiency? Only when pigs can fly.
