New Life in Old Havana

Photo Feature by Elio Delgado Valdes

HAVANA TIMES — Nueva Vida (New life) is a facility in Old Havana sponsored by the City Historian’s Office. It provides a day time place for 50 elderly citizens who otherwise would be alone during the day as the other family members are working.

The home is located at #12 Callejón de Espada between Chacon and Castillo streets in Old Havana and has been operating since April 1992. Here the elderly receive all necessary attention including meals and medical care.
