Cuba-Swedish Music Festival Begins

HAVANA TIMES, March 25 — This weekend, people in Havana will be able to enjoy hip-hop, house, rock, pop, reggae, Swedish traditional rhythms, electronic music and Cuban music.  The place: Los jardines de La Tropical.  The reason: “The Peace and Love Festival.”

Created in Sweden based on environmental and anti-war principles, on this occasion the festival has come to Cuba organized by the Fabrica de Arte cubano (The Cuban Art Factory project), whose members are seeking to make this an annual event.

Among the Cuban musicians participating will be Silvio Rodriguez, Carlos Varela, X Alfonso, Zeus, and Hipnosis.  Among the Swedish guests will be Timbuktu & Damn, Familjen, Looptroop Rockers and the Badoon Show, who will be presented for the first time on the island.

Also expected is the participation of the Harley Davidson motorcyclist club, among others.

On Friday (March 25) and Saturday (March 26), from 4:00 in the afternoon to midnight, will be a fiesta with all types of music that shouldn’t be missed.
