Delirio Habanero: Popular Musical Stage Reopens

HAVANA TIMES.- The Delirio Habanero Piano Bar reopens its doors on Thursday, October 23. The announcement comes as good news for music lovers who went months without this popular venue located at the Teatro Nacional (Paseo and Avenida 39, Vedado).

As before, the Delirio Habanero will offer a different show each night with artists and groups playing into the early morning hours. The piano bar menu includes light foods, beverages and national and international cocktails. It also has a great view of the city with the Plaza of the Revolution in the foreground.

The Delirio Habanero has two time slots: matinees run from 4 to 8 p.m. and the night session begins at 11:00 p.m.

The reopening night show is with Caribe Girls, the all women’s band that plays a wide range of genres, specializing in salsa and timba but also playing son, bolero, reggaeton, cha cha cha and rumba. Tickets are $10.00 CUC (US $12.00)

Friday night’s show is with the talented daughters of Pablo Milanes, one of the most important figures of the “new trova” movement. The Milanes’ are known for their strong and melodic voices. They perform different genres from filin to boleros. Tickets are $10.00 CUC (US $12.00)

Juego de Manos is the main attraction on Saturday night, October 25. They play a wide range of Cuban music including boleros, guarachas, son, rumba and guajiras. Tickets are $10.00 CUC (US $12.40)

NG la Banda play on Sunday October 26. One of the best Cuban timba and salsa bands, NG has been around for nearly 20 years playing at home and abroad. Definetely a classic of Cuban popular music. Tickets are $15.00 CUC (US $18.60)

The weekend afternoon playbill is Caribridon on Friday, Diana Rosa and her guests on Saturday and Yoruba Andabo, one of the best folklore groups with 40 years of afro-cuban music on Sunday. Tickets at all three matinees is $5.00 CUC (US $6.20)
