HAVANA TIMES, June 2 — Villa Clara will attempt to begin a rebound at home on Tuesday evening when it plays Havana Province down 2-0 in the best-of-seven Cuban Baseball League championship series.

Yadier Pedroso could put Havana on the verge of a championship.

The first two games were decided by one run, 4-3 and 5-4, and good pitching was present from both teams. Game three probable pitchers are right-handers Yadier Pedroso, the season’s ERA leader, for Havana against Yosvani Perez.

In his last start Pedroso went seven innings of one-run ball against Pinar del Rio in the semifinal playoffs while Perez went 5.1 innings of excellent no-run, one-hit relief against Ciego de Avila.

Havana has never won a Cuban baseball championship and Villa Clara did so for the last time 14 years ago.
