HAVANA TIMES, Sept. 6 – From November 23 to 27, the 2010 JoJazz Young Jazz Artists Competition will take place in Havana.  This event seeks to motivate participating youth to not only make incursions into traditional jazz styles, but to also seek their own styles of creation.

Through JoJazz have passed important musicians such as Yassek Manzano, Jorge Luis Pacheco, Rolando Luna and Ernesto Vega.

Sponsored by the National Center for Popular Music and the Cuban Music Institute, with headquarters in the Auditorium of the Amadeo Roldan Theater, several awards will be presented, the most outstanding being the recording of a CD at the studios of maestro Jesus “Chucho” Valdes.
