“Bridges and More Bridges” Seminar at Havana Festival

HAVANA TIMES, Dec. 5 — Starting today, the seminar “Bridges and More Bridges: Latinos in America” begins at the Cuba Pavilion in downtown Havana. Running until December 8, discussions will focus on immigration and the conflicts around it.

The seminar is running this year under the title “Film and Borders: The Coming and Going of Latinos in the US to Latin America.” For the occasion, the organizers have invited artists and scholars from Puerto Rico, Argentina, the USA and Cuba, who in their works have reflected the conflict of immigration and the problems associated with migrants.

This can be considered the great theme of the 21st century given its presence and the increasing intensity in Latin American cinematography and the production of Latino filmmakers in the US.
