Brazil Triples Presence of Cuban MDs

HAVANA TIMES – The Brazilian government decided to triple the number of Cuban collaborators in their program More Doctors, at a total cost of over $632 million dollars, said Café Fuerte.

The initial agreement with the Pan American Health Organization and the Cuban government called for hiring 4000 Cubans, for whom Brazil has already spent about $217 million dollars.

The agreement represents an expansion of 90% increase in disbursements from federal coffers, as was reported in the Official Journal.

Brazil reaches the figure of 11,400 Cuban doctors hired, second only to Venezuela.
