Chavez in Cuba after Referendum Win

HAVANA TIMES, Feb. 21 — Venezuelan President Hugo arrived in Havana Friday evening on an unannounced trip to meet with his counterpart Raul Castro and possible former President Fidel Castro. Chavez is fresh off a victory last Sunday on a referendum to abolish term limits that will allow him to remain in the presidency as long as the voters wish.

Raul Castro met Chavez at the foot of the plane to set the tone for his working visit. Other top officials accompanying the Venezuelan president include Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro and Rafael Ramierz, the key minister of Energy and Petroleum and president of the government-operated oil company PDVSA.
