Chavez to Follow Lula to Cuba

HAVANA TIMES, Feb. 24 — Without specifying the date, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said he will be traveling soon to Cuba to meet with former President Fidel Castro, out of the public eye since July 2006 for health problems, reported IPS.

Brazilian President Lula da Silva is currently in Havana and will meet with Cuba’s top leaders after coming from the Latin American and Caribbean Unity Summit in Cancun, Mexico.

Fidel Castro is still active as a columnist for the local press and is considered the top advisor to the government of his brother Raul Castro.
