Clinton Demands Release of Prisoners

HAVANA TIMES, Feb. 26 – U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reiterated her government’s demand to the Cuban authorities for the release of the more than 200 political prisoners in the island in statements made before the U.S. Congress, during which she lamented the death of dissident Orlando Zapata, reported IPS.

Meanwhile, Cuba continues to demand the release of five Cubans, known internationally as the Cuban Five, held in US jails since 1998 for infiltrating exile organizations based in Miami that plot terrorist actions —under the complacent eye of Washington— against Cuba and its interests abroad.
