HAVANA TIMES — The Criterios Theoretical and Cultural Center has begun preparing for the celebration of its tenth anniversary set for next year, according to a news note released by its director, essayist Desiderio Navarro.

The director, who is also the editor of the magazine with the same name, announced for this reason the center will publish the books Blanco sobre negro: Las imagenes de Africa y de los negros en la cultura popular occidental (White on Black: Images of Africa and Blacks in Western Popular Culture), by Dutch native Jan Nederveen Pieterse; and Fundamentos del saber cinematografico (Fundamentals of Film Know How), by Polish writers Alicja Helman and Andrzej Pitrus.
