Cuba’s Robles Takes to Track in Doha

HAVANA TIMES, March 14 — Cuba’s Olympic gold medalist Dayron Robles takes to the track in Doha, Quatar on Sunday in the 13th World Athletics Championship in the 60-meter hurdles.

Robles runs in heat two of the three semifinals events.  The finals will take place later in the day.

On Friday, Robles won his first round heat with a time of 7.74 seconds.  Among his toughest rivals to win the event are two US runners Terrance Trammell and David Oliver.

Meanwhile on Saturday, Cuba’s Yargelis Savigne won a silver medal in the triple jump and William Collazo finished second in the 400 meter event.

Savigne jumped 14.86 meters, second to Olga Rypakova of Kazakstan (14.90).  Collazo clocked 46.31 seconds behind Bahamas runner Chris Brown (45.96).
