HAVANA TIMES — Representatives of the governments of Cuba and Finland signed an agreement in Havana on Tuesday to resume bilateral cooperation, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.
According to the note, the document was signed at the main office of the Cuban Foreign Ministry by the Finish secretary of Foreign Affairs, Pertti Torstila, and by Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra.
The new agreement was said to demonstrate the interest of the parties to increase their links.
Finland suspended cooperation with Cuba in 2003 to comply with the sanctions imposed on the island by the European Union following the imprisonment of 75 dissidents, who were subsequently released in 2010 and 2011.
