HAVANA TIMES — The Cuban national soccer team plays the United States in a 2013 Gold Cup match-up on Saturday in Sandy, Utah at 1:30 p.m. local time. The US is coming off a 6-1 breeze over Belize and Cuba a 3-0 loss to Costa Rica.

The US team, the heavy favorite, is led by Chris Wondolowski (three goals against Belize and Landon Donovan, one goal with two assists).

Cuba, which seemed outclassed against Costa Rica, has a respectable goal keeper, Odelin Molina, whose stops helped get his team into the Gold Cup with a long shot chance for the World Cup. Whether he can stop an onslaught from the US remains to be seen.

In other Gold Cup action on Friday, Honduras defeated El Salvador 1-0.
