Cuba: Chavez in the Operating Room

HAVANA TIMES — At 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday the Venezuelan government announced that President Hugo Chavez was being operated on in Havana.

This is the fourth operation since June 2011 in the recently reelected leader’s fight against cancer.

“The medical team that is attending President Chavez is carrying out the operation as scheduled for today December 11, informed the Minister of Communication Ernesto Villegas.

The official invited the Venezuelan people and the world to remain “united in prayer” for the quick recovery of Hugo Chavez, reported Cubadebate.cu.

Likewise, the government assured that it would continue informing on the details on the operation that Chavez is undergoing.
