Cuba Advises Venezuela on Energy Crisis

HAVANA TIMES, Feb. 3 – A Cuban government technical commission headed by Minister of Informatics and Communication Ramiro Valdes will provide advice to Venezuela to face the energy crisis the South American nation is going through, reported IPS.

President Hugo Chavez announced that the authorities have had to resort to the rationing of power consumption.

Venezuela cut electricity consumption in January after Chavez ordered homes, businesses and government offices to conserve electricity as water levels plunged at hydroelectric dams.

Cuba experienced similar situations that weighed down its economy in the early 1990s and later in 2004.
