HAVANA TIMES — Aimed at strengthening trade between El Salvador and Cuba, the “Partial Scope Agreement” went into effect on Wednesday, announced El Salvador’s Ministry of the Economy, reported the dpa news agency.
According to the document, the two governments will promote the training of specialists and will share information and experiences in the areas of biotechnology, genetic engineering, medicine, and provide mutual assistance for technological and productivity advancement.
The statement indicated that “this agreement does not include the liberalization of the entire universe of tariffs” but realized “tariff discounts” on each country’s products.
Within the new tariff list, 71 percent of Salvadoran products can now be imported into Cuba without paying duties, specified the dpa report.
