Cuba Finishes 2nd to US in Pan Am Wrestling

HAVANA TIMES – The Cuban wrestling team culminated its efforts on Sunday in the Pan American Championships with four gold medals and one bronze. The tournament was held at the Rommel Fernandez Grand Hotel in Panama, reported JIT online.

Climbing to the top of the podium was Alejandro Valdes (60 kilograms), Franklyn Marén (66), Yuniesky Blanco (74) and Javier Cortina (96), while Yunierky Torreblanca (84) finished third, losing to US athlete Phillip Keddy in the semifinals.

In the standings by temas, Cuba was second with 48 points, behind the USA (61) and ahead of Canada (46).
