By Circles Robinson

HAVANA TIMES, Oct. 21 — Tropical Storm Richard formed on Thursday and is now 380 kilometers south-southeast of Grand Cayman and 320 kilometers east-northeast from Cabo Gracias a Dios, on the Honduras-Nicaraguan border, reported the Cuban Meteorological Institute (INSMET) at 6:00 p.m. EST on Thursday.

The Cuban weather experts projection cone for Richard sees the storm moving in the southwestern Caribbean en route to a landing in the Mexican Yucatan Peninsula.

Presently they say the center of the  storm is moving at barely 6 kph (4 mph) in a south-southeast direction.

The Miami-based National Hurricane Center has put out a tropical storm watch for the northeastern coast of Honduras.  The NHC sees TS Richard becoming a hurricane by Saturday.

The next report from INSMET is forthcoming at midnight EST.
