Cuba Has Its First Library-Park

HAVANA TIMES – The first library-park in Cuba will be opened on the grounds of Jose Marti National Library in Havana on Saturday December 29, reported Juventud Rebelde.

For the occasion the book “Count Havana”, by journalist and writer Ciro Bianchi Ross will be presented, and the event will feature performances of musicians and storytellers and book sales.

The organizers hope that this initiative, which will be open to the public on the last Saturday of every month as a community cultural project for the promotion of reading, will also be instituted at other libraries around the island.
