Cuba Repeats Second in Pan Am Games

HAVANA TIMES, Oct. 29 — With two days remaining Cuba has assured a repeat in the second position in the medals standings in the Guadalajara 2011 Pan American Games.

After a major boost on Friday with 15 gold medals in the Track and Field (7) boxing (4) Judo (2), Canoeing (2) competitions, the Cubans now have 52 gold medals, only seven shy of those obtained in the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro.

As expected the USA is first with 86 gold medals and Brazil currently third with 45.
