Cuban Actors AWOL in New York

HAVANA TIMES, April 24 — Two of the lead actors in the Cuban Film “Una Noche” abandoned their planned tour in the US as soon as they landed for a stopover in Miami.

Analin de la Rua de la Torre y Javier Nuñez Florian were scheduled to arrive last Thursday in New York for a premiere of the film by Lucy Mulloy.

The third actor that traveled from Cuba, Dariel Arrechada, did arrive for the premiere and said he didn’t know the whereabouts of the other two.

The film deals with the three persons trying to escape from poverty in Cuba to search for a better life in Miami, apparently exactly what the two actors decided to try.

Cubans who touch US soil have an automatic fast track to permanent residency under the Cuban Adjustment Act of 1966.
