Cuban and Chilean Entrepreneurs Seeking to Boost Trade

HAVANA TIMES — Chilean and Cuban officials in Havana discussed an economic agreement that provides facilities for trade between the two countries, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.

Over one thousand Chilean and Cuban products enjoy tariff reductions of 100 percent, but many exporters are unaware of the incentives and benefits of the trade agreement whose protocol was implemented this past June.

Mackerel and sausage topped Chile’s exports to Cuba, while the island sells mainly rum and cigars to the South American country, achieving a trade figure that was around $45 million in 2011.
