HAVANA TIMES — Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra met with Indian Foreign Minister S. M. Krishna on Tuesday during the first summit between the Asian country and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (ECLAC).
During their meeting, the two officials agreed on the need to strengthen bilateral ties and to increase trade.
The Indian foreign minister expressed his country’s interest in enhancing its relations with CELAC, while the Cuban side expressed its willingness to support such a purpose, according to information from the Prensa Latina news agency.
S. M. Krishna recently visited the Caribbean island. He also recalled the journey made by Fidel Castro to India in 1983 on the occasion of a Non-Aligned Movement summit held there.
