Cuban Filmmaker Daniel Diaz Torres Dies in Havana at 65

HAVANA TIMES — Cuban filmmaker Daniel Díaz Torres, 65, passed away in the early hours of Monday in Havana, product of a long illness, reported Cubadebate.

Díaz Torres last production was the successful film “Lisanka” in 2009, although the artist achieved international notoriety for the satire “Alice in Wondertown,” 1991, with the screenplay by Eduardo del Llano.

The director was also credited with nearly a hundred editions of the Noticiero ICAIC Latin America newsreel, between 1977 and 1981, as well as documentary work.
