Cuban Municipalities Affected by Landslide

HAVANA TIMES — The heavy rains that lashed the Cuban western end of last week caused a landslide in Artemisa Province of about 200 meters, Cubadebate reported.

The stretch of road known as Ojo de Agua, on the main road that connects the municipalities of San Cristobal and Bahia Honda, was blocked.

A soil study is underway to prevent other situations like this one, and consider the possibility to building a detour.

Recovery efforts should end this month. In the meantime the authorities recommend driving on alternate routes.
