Cuban Olympic Medalists Awarded by IOC

HAVANA TIMES — Cubans medalists in the London Olympic Games on Wednesday in Havana received buttons from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), reported the Prensa Latina news agency.

At the ceremony held at the Convention Center in Cojimar, east of the capital, awards were presented to gold-medalists Leuris Pupo (sports shooting), Mijail Lopez (wrestling), Idalis Ortiz (judo), and boxers Roniel Iglesias and Robeisis Ramirez.

Also honored were silver-medalists Yanet Bermoy and Asley Gonzalez (judo), and Yarisley Silva (pole vault), and to bronze-medalists Livan Lopez (wrestling), Leonel Suarez (athletics), Robelis Despaigne (taekwondo), Ivan Cambar (weight lifting), and Yasnier Toledo and Lazaro Alvarez (boxing).
