Cuban Vice President to Go on Asia Tour

HAVANA TIMES – Cuban First Vice President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, will tour the Asia, during which he will make official visits to China, Vietnam and Laos, according to information released this Sunday on national television. The exact dates of the trip were not released.

The delegation consists of the deputy chief of the Permanent Commission for Implementation and Development (of Cuba’s economic “update”), Leonardo Andollo, and the Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra.

In recent years the Cuban government has shown interest in bringing its economic system closer to the strategies developed in these Asian nations, combining capitalist market formulas with socialist ideological schemes.
