The Vice President was received at the Executive Mansion by the head of state and secretary general of the Popular Party of Laos, Choummaly Sayasone.
Sayasone inquired about the health of Fidel Castro, to which Diaz-Canel said the leader of the Cuban revolution “devotes much of his time researching how to fix the problem of feeding the world.”
In previous conversations with Lao Vice President Bounnhang Vorachit, the parties expressed the desire to expand bilateral relations not only politically, but also economically.
Laos is the third country visited Díaz-Canel on his current tour, having been to China and Vietnam.
