HAVANA TIMES — From today until Friday, the famed Cuban novelist Leonardo Padura will be the guest writer at the Casa de las Americas in Havana during “Author’s Week” at that cultural institution, reported AFP.

Padura’s work will be analyzed from many different angles by dozens of critics and scholars, while the author, 57, will give three talks during the week dedicated to him.

“I’ve been very dissatisfied that the journalism work I’ve done over the past 17 years has been published outside of Cuba,” said the writer recently in an interview published in La Ventana in anticipation of the Author’s Week.

Works by Padura, one of Cuba’s most published writers on and off the island, has been translated into several languages, with his writings characterized by their social and critical backdrop.
