He needed every fraction to beat David Oliver of the USA who clocked 7.49. Jamaican Dwight Thomas ran third with a 7.64 time followed by Cuban Dayron Capetillo (7.68).
Robles holds the world and Olympic records for the 110-meter hurdles.
