HAVANA TIMES, Mar 15 — The musical group “David Calzado y su Charanga Habanera” will mark the 25th year since the band’s formation by beginning a tour of 17 US cities starting on March 23, reported the Cubaencuentro website.

The band will begin with a concert at the Off the Hook Club in Miami, and will later appear on stages in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Diego, New Jersey, Orlando and Dallas, among other cities. They will conclude their tour at the Ache Club in Miami in mid-April.

La Charanga “has become a benchmark of Cuban popular music and is an icon of tropical rhythms, therefore this tour is highlighting its great contribution to world art,” stated the president of Blue Night Entertainment, Inc., which is organizing the tour.
