HAVANA TIMES, March 1 — In mid-October, the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba will begin a tour of 17 US cities in 10 states, according to the website Café Fuerte.
The tour will begin in Kansas City and make its way to Florida by November to perform at the Circulo Cubano in Ybor City and Tampa, as well as the Mahaffey Theater in the neighboring city of St. Petersburg. So far there is no performance scheduled in Miami.
The Cuban orchestra is taking part in a multi-year exchange project with the Florida Orchestra.
This is the first tour by the Cuban Symphony Orchestra in the US since its founding in 1960, and the second time that members of the group will be presented on American stages.
