Cuba’s Private Sector Represented in International Tourism Convention

HAVANA TIMES — The Cuba’s emerging private sector will be represented at “CietCuba-2012” Second International Convention of Tourism Studies, scheduled to take place from June 18 to 22 at the Havana Convention Center, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.

According to the CietCuba-2012 organizers, “The initiative seeks to promote the contribution of ‘self-employed workers’ in the development of the nation’s tourism industry, an undertaking in line with the updating of the Cuban economic model.”

Some 240 delegates from Argentina, Spain, Mexico and Cuba are expected to attend the meeting where they will address issues related to the environment, sustainability, the world economic crisis, new technology and the law.
