Daughter of Fidel Wants Antonio Banderas to Play Her Father

HAVANA TIMES, Jan 16 — Alina Fernandez, the recognized daughter of Fidel Castro, wants actor Antonio Banderas to play her father in the autobiographical film Castro’s Daughter, to be directed by Michael Radford, reported EFE.

The production team is now in negotiations with the actor’s agent to add his name to the cast, which will be based on the screenplay by Robert Moresco and the Cuban playwrite Nilo Cruz. The film will be shot in Puerto Rico.

According to the note, Fernandez was born in 1956 to Fidel Castro and Nati Revuelta, and she left Cuba clandestinely in 1993 to reside in the US.
