HAVANA TIMES, Feb 6 — An earthquake occurring in central Cuba caused no casualties or damage, reported the country’s network of seismological stations yesterday.
Its magnitude of 2.5 on the Richter scale was recorded as being about nine miles northwest of the city of Santa Clara and was felt in the town of Quemado de Guines, reported the Juventud Rebelde newspaper.
About fifty earthquakes of medium and low intensity are reported annually in Cuba, mainly in the east.
