El Salvador Parliament Awards Distinction to Ricardo Alarcon

HAVANA TIMES — The Salvadoran parliament today bestowed the “Honor of Noble Friend of El Salvador” on the president of the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba, Ricardo Alarcon, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.

The granting of the award was sponsored by the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front and was approved by legislative majority on November 15.

The award recognizes Alarcon’s “invaluable contributions in promoting dialogue, peace and regional integration, as well as for his outstanding contribution to the peace process of the Salvadoran state.”

The head of the Cuban parliament is completing his five-day visit to the South American country.
