HAVANA TIMES, Sept. 16 — Salvadoran President Mauricio Funes will finally travel to Cuba in early October, he announced in a press conference during a ceremony to commemorate the 189th anniversary of the independence of Central America. Funes, who resumed relations with the island in June 2009, will be the first president from his country to visit the socialist system Caribbean island nation, reported IPS. A previous trip had been postponed.
