Five Cuban Latin Grammy Nominees

HAVANA TIMES – A total of five Cuban musical productions were presented on Wednesday as part of the Grammy nominations from the Latin Recording Academy.

In this edition,  the jazz disc “Border- free ” by pianist Chucho Valdes competes in the category of Best Latin Jazz Album.

Meanwhile, in the category of Best Traditional Tropical Album are the albums “La canción cubana” by Miriam Ramos, “Vamos pa’ la fiesta” from the Septeto Santiaguero, and “La Habana tiene su son” by the Septeto Nacional Ignacio Piñeiro.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for November 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada where in addition to presenting the winners of the 48 categories special recognitions will be awarded including one to  Cuban Juan Formell of The Van Van fame.
