Georgia TV Analyst on Cuba Visit

HAVANA TIMES, June 8 — Georgia Govenor Sonny Perdue just completed a visit to Cuba to promote better trade relations between the two countries.  He said he would lobby back home at the legislature to make increased business a future reality.

The United States has a nearly half century economic blockade on Cuba that stymies the island’s development and also hurts US business people wanting to conduct commerce with the Caribbean nation.

Perdue is the last in a string of governors and numerous congress people calling for relaxing the trade embargo and ending the travel ban on ordinary US citizens from visiting Cuba.

Georgia political reporter Lori Geary traveled with Governor Perdue and gives her account.  See the full text.
