Haiti President Arrives In Cuba

HAVANA TIMES — Haitian president Michel Joseph Martelly arrives in Cuba on Tuesday for an official visit to the neighboring island.

According to the official press, Marelly will hold talks with Cuban President Raul Castro and will “undertake other activities,” though these were not unspecified.

Cuba has maintained an “army” of hundreds of doctors working in Haiti for over a decade. In addition, around 700 Haitians have graduated from medical schools in Cuba.

Both Haiti and Cuba were hard hit by Hurricane Sandy last month.
