Tropical Storm Kirk Approaches the Lesser Antilles

HAVANA TIMES – The warm days will continue with isolated cloudiness in the morning and a little more abundant in the afternoon, when some isolated showers will be likely in different localities. The winds will be from the southeast in the mornings and the northeast in the evenings, with speeds between 15 and 25 km/h.
The high temperatures will average 32° C (90 F), while the lows will be close to 25° C (77 F). The sea surface temperature will be 29° C (84 F).
Meteorological conditions
Tropical Storm Kirk is approaching the Lesser Antilles on Thursday moving west at an approximate speed of 26 km/h. Its minimum central pressure is 1002 millibars and it has maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h, with higher gusts. The convection associated with this system has become more symmetric during the last hours. Under current forecasts, Kirk will be moving over the Lesser Antilles on Thursday night, entering the eastern Caribbean on Friday. It is estimated that it will not change its intensity as it passes through the Antilles, but will be weakening as it advances over the Caribbean Sea, until it becomes a tropical depression.
Over the Gulf of Mexico and the seas of the Straits of Florida a flow of trade winds of weak to moderate will continue during the coming days.
For the North Atlantic, the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, the probability of tropical cyclone formation will be low for the next 5 days.
