Hu Jintao Leaves Cuba for Peru

HAVANA TIMES, Nov. 19.- Chinese President Hu Jintao concluded his official visit to Cuba on Wednesday, boarding his Air China plane for Lima, Peru to continue his five-nation trip. He will attend the Economic Leaders Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Cooperation Organization (APEC) scheduled for Nov. 22-23, reported www.chinaview.cn.

Hu met during his two-day visit with both President Raul Castro and former President Fidel Castro and several new agreements were signed to expand cooperation and trade between the two countries.

The visit was Hu’s third to Cuba and second since he assumed the Chinese presidency in 2004.

Before traveling to Cuba, the Chinese president visited Costa Rica and attended the G-20 Summit in Washington.
